As you Chemistry Lab Manager to be the successful candidate will be expected to operationally and technical lead the day-to-day activities of the Chemistry Laboratory to achieve the primary objectives of safety, quality and service delivery that Exova and its clients require.

Prime Function and Responsibilities:

•Delivery of services to meet the overall business plan targets for the laboratory with the GM and other senior management.

•Liaison with senior management to achieve profitable growth and adequate technical resourcing.

•Provide the operational support to the chemistry business.

•Train and mentoring the chemists, technicians inside the department

•Maintenance of Health and Safety and Quality standards within a UKAS accredited 17025 quality management systems.

•Client liaison and care, quotation generation and report authorization.

•Overall responsibility for timely sample turnaround

•leading the development and execution of the lab business plan, in support of the sector strategy

•Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing operations

•Lead the execution of tasks and programmes aimed at leveraging strengths and addressing deficiencies

 Managerial responsibilities:

•Conduct periodic team meetings with specific emphasis on HSE, technical updates, etc.

•Co-ordinate for periodic training for the team (size 15)

•Represent the department in inter-department and client meetings

•Motivate the team for superior performance and be a conduit between employees needs and the company

•Plan and Manage department employees leave with minimum effect Carries out Managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable.

Your experience and Skills

Should have a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or related discipline

• Experience in setting up, calibrating, operating and managing an Analytical Chemistry laboratory in line with 17025 requirements.

should have a experience of managing a lab for minimum of 5 years.  Applications from candidates who have obtained this experience in a fast moving commercial environmental /analytical laboratory

• Strong operational chemistry background ideally with LIMS experience.
• Strong on instrumental techniques –GC-MS, ICP-OES, IC-MS, AAS, Ion chromatography etc.
• Strong and determined with quality focus.
• Familiar with analytical organic/inorganic testing.
• Self-motivated team player with excellent organizational skills.
• Possess exceptional  communication skills in English

ينبغي أن يكون لديك  درجة البكالوريوس في الكيمياء أو الانضباط ذات الصلة
