GENERAL DESCRIPTION / JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Planning Engineer to join our organization to apply Project management and planning knowledge to plan and operate project management tools, installation techniques to meet the project execution and completion requirements in a timely manner.

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and scheduling of all jobs considering the work order specification, contract terms and conditions and feasibility of execution.
  • Preparing purchase request for all raw materials, equipment jigs fixture required for proper execution of job.
  • Preparation of progress report, review report etc. related to job status and client communication.
  • Identify the project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks and targets to determine the staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project through the project measurement system.  
  • Implement the work schedule and monitor progress of the work for timely execution of the project through daily/weekly/monthly/ reports with respect to review of the overall project.  
  • Progress monitoring of specific projects on a regular basis. Anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts. Prepare and maintain package work plans and monitor progress to achieve on time or earlier deliveries to keep the project on schedule.  
  • Co‐ordinate internal production team and project team reviews followed by an approval and review by the client of the work schedule, progress measurement and reporting systems.
  • Review status reports, modify schedules and plans as required and keep the management and Project director apprised of the progress on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that project controls documents such as resources histogram, schedules, reporting systems, material controls systems, etc. are fully developed and reviewed by Sales & Marketing, Engineering & Estimation, QA/QC, Procurement and senior management team.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Superintendent.
  • Ensure that quality policy is implemented at all places as required.
  • Ensure all relevant safety precautions and all industry related safety standards are practiced by employees, subcontractors and clients at the work sites and workshops. 

 

 

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Technical:  

  • Computer skills (MD Office/Excel)
  • Conversant with relevant software and systems like ‘primavera’, ‘MS projects’, ERP, etc.
  • Good command in English language
  • Should have knowledge in studying drawings to understand and assess critical and practical problems from fabrication stage to installation schedule stage.
  • Familiar with various national and international codes and standards related to material of construction, fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, tanks, etc.
  • Well conversant with international quality management system ISO-9001-2000. 

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • 4 years of relevant experience.
