Solution Architect Manager
Department: Solution Architecture & Platforms
Reports to: CTO
Purpose
Define solution architectures and reference designs across the company's solution portfolio, and own the technical evolution of the Tahreez Unified Platform and its Smart Integration components.
Act as the technical anchor between presales, engineering, delivery, and portfolio/commercial governance for Managed Services offerings — working closely with the Solutions and Business Modeling Manager, Finance/CCO, and Managing Director strategy — ensuring every complex bid, deployment, and cataloged offer is built on consistent, compliant, and reusable architecture rather than one-off designs.
Core Responsibilities
Reference Architecture & Design
Design reference architectures per use case and business line, covering AV solutions, physical security, Smart Screening, intelligent healthcare solutions, IoT/IIoT, AI-driven solutions, and integrated ELV systems.
Translate client and regulatory requirements (e.g., security classification frameworks, safety codes, data-protection rules) into compliant system architectures, network topologies, and equipment schedules.
Maintain a living library of approved reference designs, BOQs/MTOs, and solution templates so project teams reuse validated architectures instead of redesigning from scratch each time.
Define integration patterns between disciplines — e.g., AV-over-IP with enterprise networks, physical security with IoT sensor layers, Smart Screening with health-monitoring platforms — ensuring interoperability across BACnet/IP, ONVIF, MQTT, and similar protocols.
Continuously calibrate reference designs and BOQs/MTOs using validated bid-vs-actual variance data.
Historical Project & Estimation Intelligence (Bid vs. Actual)
Build and maintain a repository of historical project data across all solution lines (AV, physical security, Smart Screening, healthcare, IoT/IIoT, AI, ELV), capturing bid-stage estimates against actual delivery outcomes.
At bid stage, capture and archive the cost, timeline, contingency, and procurement assumptions used for each opportunity's estimate.
Post-award, work directly with the installation/delivery teams to gather actual cost, timeline, contingency utilization, and procurement outcomes at project close-out (or key milestones for long-cycle projects).
Analyze variances between bid-stage estimates and actuals to identify systemic estimation gaps — e.g., recurring underestimation of procurement lead time, contingency overuse patterns by solution type or sector.
Maintain a calibration log / lessons-learned record per solution line, and feed corrected assumptions back into reference architecture templates, BOQ/MTO libraries, and SPBM pricing guardrails.
Support to SPBM (Solution Portfolio & Business Models)
Provide technical architecture input into the offer catalogue maintained by SPBM, ensuring each cataloged offer per sector/BL is backed by a validated reference architecture rather than a theoretical one.
Participate in BDRC as the technical authority on business model design, validating that proposed commercial/business models are technically deliverable and align with approved architectures.
Support Finance and CCO in setting pricing guardrails by supplying technical cost drivers, platform attach-rate assumptions, and solution complexity inputs.
Supply variance-based cost and estimation accuracy data (in addition to reuse/attach metrics) to inform pricing guardrails.
Feed installed-base and portfolio performance data (e.g., reference-architecture reuse rates, deviation points, platform attach trends) into SPBM's analysis for EXCOM Strategy & Portfolio and PPR reporting.
Flag architecture or platform gaps surfaced through installed-base analysis back into the reference-architecture roadmap and Tahreez platform roadmap.
Platform Ownership — Tahreez Unified Platform & Smart Integration Module
Own the technical roadmap for the Tahreez Unified Platform, including its Smart Integration module evolution (features, integrations, versioning).
Define the platform's core architecture: edge devices, connectivity layers, cloud/on-prem hosting, APIs, data ingestion, analytics, and AI-driven decision layers.
