Role Purpose

Lead day-to-day FTJV ground gravity operations, combining field leadership with hands-on gravity acquisition, positioning, QA/QC and data-processing expertise. The role manages Senior Crew Leads and Crew Leads, converts survey priorities into practical deployment plans, and develops crew capability through training and coaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and issue daily/weekly gravity deployment plans, station/loop assignments and crew priorities; track progress and adjust for terrain, access, equipment or operational constraints.

• Lead multiple gravity crews and provide hands-on technical support for CG-6 Autograv setup, levelling, recording, station selection, safe handling, transport and end-of-day care.

• Oversee field QA/QC including station precision, repeat observations, loop closure, drift/base control, GPS/RTK accuracy, data completeness, outliers and repeat/hold/corrective actions.

• Ensure daily gravity and positioning data is downloaded, validated, organised, backed up and processed/reduced in accordance with project procedures and file-control requirements.

• Use and support Trimble field survey systems, including TSC5 controllers and RTK/PPK/GNSS workflows, receiver connectivity, positioning checks and field data transfer.

• Train, coach and assess Senior Crew Leads, Crew Leads and field personnel in deployment, equipment handling, QA/QC, positioning, troubleshooting and safe working practices.

• Coordinate with the Field Operations Manager and HSE team; conduct pre-start/toolbox coordination and maintain strong HSE leadership, journey management, emergency readiness and stop-work expectations.

• Provide concise daily updates covering completed stations, repeats, QA/QC issues, equipment readiness, safety observations, productivity and the next-day deployment plan.

Required Experience & Competencies

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant ground-gravity experience covering field deployment, QA/QC and gravity data processing.

• Demonstrated hands-on gravity-meter experience; CG-6 Autograv experience strongly preferred.

• Practical Trimble and GNSS/RTK experience; Trimble TSC5 and Trimble field software experience highly desirable.

• Previous responsibility for supervising field crews and translating survey plans into safe, achievable deployment plans.

• Good knowledge of HSE requirements for remote field operations, including hazard identification, toolbox meetings, journey management and emergency response.

• Degree/diploma in Geophysics, Geology, Surveying/Geomatics, Earth Sciences, Engineering or related discipline preferred; strong equivalent field experience may be considered.

• Strong leadership, communication, training, problem-solving, reporting and data-integrity skills; remote desert/GCC experience is an advantage.

Working Conditions

Site-based role in remote Saudi Arabia. The position requires regular outdoor field work, 4x4 travel, work in rugged terrain, heat and dust, and hands-on support to crews. Candidate must be medically fit for field duties and able to comply with all FTJV HSE and operational requirements.
