GENERAL DESCRIPTION / JOB SUMMARY

The objectives of the position in to carry out technical evaluation, maintaining the work discipline and good working environment among the pear group, performing the job to generate outcomes of higher level of quality in a cost-effective manner and prevention of rework/ rejection.

Will report to and work under the supervision of Project Dept. Manager and responsible for all project management related work. 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Study the contract / PO, project package & develop project objectives & WBS.
• Conduct project kick-off meeting with concerned department and coordinate with cross functional execution team.
• Identify project outlines and record important features.
• Study Project design, Deliverables, Customer requirements, Standard of performance and cost estimates
• Establish project plan including invoicing plan, Project Risk analysis and Mitigation plans.
• Preparing necessary documents related to execution of job.
• Monitor project progress, expedite submittals in co-ordination with other departments & ensure timely approvals are received.
• Resolve any issues that arise within cross functional teams and with Client and coordinate team activities to maintain approved schedule & budget.
• Monitor/Track details of additional SOW, de-scoping work, cost, and schedule impacts etc. & take-up with Client in timely manners.
• Control project pace and suggest schedule changes as needed.
• Update management on project progression, completion, or any necessary updates regularly.
• Maintain an organized and logical data base containing project information.
• Ensure all correspondences including Client communications are done in legally correct manner in order to protect company from penalties and legal actions.
• Identify subcontracting items, special requirements & arrange sub-contracting through procurement team.
• Manage sub-contract work progress within budget and schedule. Get regular progress updates & ensure sub-contractor is meeting contractual obligations.
• For special jobs where special materials to be used or special techniques/methodology to be used or special handling is required or special precaution to be taken, make fabrication procedure showing sketches of special jigs fixtures, different stage of fabrication etc.

• Ensure that quality policy addressed in quality manual is implemented at all the places.
• Obtaining mile-stone certificates, work completion certificates and advice Finance department for invoicing by providing necessary documentation in timely manner.
• Actively contribute to the company’s team-working environment.

Experience

Minimum three years’ experience as project engineer in medium / heavy engineering fabrication company or construction firm.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (preferably mechanical)
• Alternatively Graduate in any discipline with PMP certification.

Technical Requirements

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Certification in using Primavera & MS Projects
• Certificate in effective communication

• Training in ERP, MS Projects and Primavera software.
