Job Purpose & Overview
Join Fleet and Tahreez as a Graduate Geophysicist within our Exploration team. This is a structured entry-level role designed to build the technical foundation of an outstanding early-career geoscientist. You will work alongside senior geophysicists on the processing, modelling, and interpretation of diverse geophysical datasets across live mineral exploration programs, learning best-practice workflows and developing hands-on expertise with Fleet’s ExoSphere platform and end-to-end acquisition-to-inversion pipeline.
Through mentorship, hands-on project work, and a clear development pathway, you will progressively take on greater technical ownership and independence, growing toward the Project Geophysicist role. Your curiosity, rigour, and drive to learn will directly contribute to the success of customer exploration programs from day one.
Duties & Responsibilities
Contribute to the interpretation and application of geophysical techniques to analyse subsurface data for mineral exploration projects, under the guidance of senior staff.
Support the compilation of technical reports and presentations, developing the ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Learn and apply best-practice data processing and interpretation workflows, building fluency with the team’s standard tools and methods.
Assist in the development of geophysical inversions, including model building and uncertainty analysis, growing toward independent delivery of robust subsurface representations.
Develop proficiency in processing, interpreting, and integrating multidisciplinary geophysical data (seismic, electromagnetic, gravity, and magnetic).
Adhere to established industry standards and internal processes across all geophysical activities and projects.
Support data collection and survey design activities, learning how site conditions and project requirements shape acquisition decisions.
Participate in customer exploration programs, applying developing geophysical expertise to real project needs alongside senior colleagues.
Work closely with geologists, geophysicists, and other technical disciplines, and follow company HSE requirements and safe working practices.
Engage with internal research into new techniques and technologies, and help integrate them into everyday workflows.
Maintain thorough, auditable, and well-organised documentation of all work.
Requirements
Recent graduate (typically 0–2 years’ experience) with a strong academic grounding in geophysics for mineral exploration; internships, thesis work, or project experience are highly regarded.
Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
Foundational understanding of a range of geophysical techniques (e.g. seismic, electromagnetic, gravity, and magnetic) and their application to mineral exploration.
Developing proficiency in processing and interpreting geophysical data, with a willingness to build multidisciplinary integration skills.
Exposure to, or strong interest in, geophysical inversions and subsurface model building, with the aptitude to develop these into a core strength.
Working proficiency in Python for data analysis with eagerness to deepen these skills will be valued
Emerging ability to author and deliver clear technical reports and presentations.
Genuine curiosity about mineral exploration geophysics, industry standards, and best practice, with a strong drive to learn.
Skills & Abilities
Clear communication, with a developing ability to articulate technical information to a range of audiences, and a good command of written and spoken English.
Collaborative team player who works well within a team and is open to feedback and mentoring.
Coachability and initiative – a proactive, self-motivated learner who seeks out opportunities to grow.
Strong listening ability to understand customer and project needs and translate them into geophysical work, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in science with geophysics and/or geology subjects is the minimum requirement.
Honours, Master’s, or PhD in geophysics or a related discipline is desirable but not essential; relevant professional certifications are a plus.
